Magic Marlon is on a mission
The latest animated series from CHF Entertainment is to air on Channel 5’s Milkshake.
CHF Entertainment’s brand new pre-school animation, Magic Marlon will see its first airing on Channel 5’s Milkshake, in spring/summer 2016. An original concept from BAFTA award winner John Offord, Magic Marlon is the latest children’s programme from the studio behind Dangermouse, The BFG, Count Duckula and Wind in the Willows. The studio’s most recent pre-school series, Pip Ahoy! successfully launched on Milkshake in June 2014 and is currently being broadcast in the UK, Ireland and across other global markets.
Set in an extraordinary shop on quite an ordinary high street in the unremarkable town of Gigglesworth, Magic Marlon follows the adventures of our lead character Marlon as he learns the tricks of his Dad’s trade which is mending things… with magic! What ensues is a series full of fun and adventure with Marlon and his co-stars, including Magicat a talkative magic cat of infinite curiosity, Fancy Phillis the very smart flying fish and Bungelina the somewhat apprehensive rabbit that lives in a hat on the counter.
The 52 x 7’ series is being produced by CHF Entertainment’s hugely talented production team under the leadership of multi award-winners Jean Flynn and Ben Turner.
Jessica Symons, Head of Children’s television at Channel 5 says: “We’re looking forward to introducing Magic Marlon and his fantastic friends to the Milkshake audience next year. Viewers can expect the unexpected from this spectacular series where mending has never been more fun.”
Simon Hall, Managing Director of CHF Entertainment comments, “We are delighted to be working with Channel 5 on our second major animated series to come out of our new studio, Magic Marlon.” Hall added: “The three to six age group is an important audience for our shows and also the most demanding. We believe that Magic Marlon has the right ingredients to become a very successful series.”
Helen Brown, producer of Magic Marlon said: “We’ve created an exciting, wacky character with stories that take our audience on an exciting adventure into a world of magic. Our cast of characters fulfil the tried and tested formula for success, they’re sincere and engaging but above all energetic and humorous, which our audience will relate to”.
