Cosgrove, Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment appoints Lisle International as Global Master Licensing Agent for the new British animation series, Pip!

Cosgrove, Hall Fitzpatrick (CHF) Entertainment has appointed Lisle International as the Master Agent worldwide for its new British animation series, Pip! which is designed for a pre-school audience.  CHF Entertainment is inviting children to join them on a magical journey of discovery to the picturesque coastal town of Salty Cove, where Pip! and his friends will welcome weird and wonderful visitors from all over the world for some never-to-forget adventures.

CHF Entertainment is the multi-award winning team that created global TV hits Danger Mouse and Wind in the Willows for the small screen in 1980s, and seven-time Emmy award-winning show, Jakers!  Pip! will be their newest creation, a fun exciting yet heart-warming story centred around a colourful and enchanting seaside setting that will appeal to children aged two and onwards.  The series is currently in production under the creative leadership of multi award-winners Jean Flynn and Ben Turner, and features Sir David Jason as the voice of Pip’s caring uncle, Skipper.  It is scheduled to air in the UK next year.

CHF Carterbench Licensing will be responsible for overseeing the property while Lisle International as Master Agent, will manage all global aspects of licensing and merchandise

Simon Hall continued: “Pip! has so many aspects to it that children will enjoy.  The storylines are exciting and have a familiar family feel.  Pip! himself is a character that boys and girls can relate to.  The next 12 months will be an absolutely manic time and it’s our intention that as the series goes live, children will be able to take Pip! and his friends into their hearts in myriad ways.”

A range of merchandising opportunities is planned for Pip! to turn it into a long term international brand  including a Master Toy License,  publishing,  games, internet, mobile content, music and an education programme, to name a few, all of which will be leveraged from the global television platform.


Children’s TV is still big business.  Over £10billion has been spent on children aged 0-14 years in the UK in the 12 months to March 2013, with nearly a quarter being attributed to licensed or character properties.  In this new digital era TV still plays a very important part in the success and popularity of new characters with increasing opportunities for characters to expand outside their traditional arena.

The original idea for Pip! came from the imagination of photographer, Charlie Ward, who was inspired to write the stories after enjoying numerous summer holidays, both as a child and later as a parent, in the quintessential coastal town of Salcombe in Devon, UK.

So pack your case, your favourite sun hat and take a train to Salty Cove.  When the sun comes up, where the sea meets the sky, you’re at Salty Cove, with the boats sailing by…
